Two NMX Goals This Week

10 01 2014

At NMX (fantastic event)  I created two goals I would complete this week. The two goals were:

  1. Create a SurveyMonkey on my Twitter followers  regarding the direction of the podcast
  2. Create a step by step project plan.

I’m half way done with the second. The Survey Monkey is complete:

After two tweets no takers. Hmmmmmmmm.

Logo for Twitter

19 12 2013

SalesBabble Logo2

Twitter is ever on my mind these days and I decided to update my profile per the rules of good branding. I updated my personal photo to match those on Facebook and WordPress. Secondly,  I updated the description to reference the  Sales Babble website. Lastly I whipped up a quick logo that I will need for my business cards. My only tools were the primitive tools of Word and Paint.  My current thoughts are to purchase a Blue Yeti for my podcasts.  As such I’m using it as part of the logo.  After review  I imported the logo  into Twitter and again after a few iterations turned it into a header background. I am somewhat please given I’m an amateur.

Our Responsibility to Search for Root Cause

17 12 2012

ImageIn light of the horrific shootings at Sandy Hook elementary, there has been a call for both more and less gun control. More gun control to  limit the ability of  criminals to obtain weaponry, less gun control to support  a better armed citizenry ready for defense. Both views disregard our responsibility;  to search for reasons an individual would be motivated to kill innocents. It’s clear this person was severely mentally ill. And given our nations decades long  malaise towards mental illness, it’s surprising there isn’t more of this. We have a responsibility to search for the root cause of these types of crimes. Gun law legislation is a case of rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. Why are we sinking as a society?  Don’t better solutions lie in the domain of family, education, counseling, health? Can’t we do better?
